What we do

  • Design and conduct high quality pragmatic randomised controlled trials (RCTs) and earlier phase efficacy studies These take place in primary and secondary care and in non-NHS settings such as schools and in public health.
  • Carry out non-randomised studies to answer important questions for patients and the NHS that cannot be evaluated using a randomised controlled trial design For example, where an RCT would be too expensive or not ethically acceptable.
  • Collaborate on studies in a range of health areas includingbut not restricted to:
    • Cancer
    • Cardiology
    • Child Health
    • Emergency Medicine
    • Mental Health
    • Peri-operative Interventions
